Specialty coffee, traded directly

Buy your coffee before it is harvested.

Roasteries pre-sell the coffee of a specific harvest. With that money they pay their producers directly and no longer have to pre-finance the green coffee themselves for months.

We are currently preparing the first harvest campaign with a pilot roastery.

The problem

Roasteries pay for the harvest long before the first bag is sold.

Anyone who buys green coffee directly from the producer usually pays before or at shipment. The roasted coffee is then sold week by week, often over a whole year. Today, small roasteries finance this gap out of their own pocket or through importers, with interest and mark-ups.

Roasteries described this to us again and again in our interviews. Many would like to buy more directly, but fail precisely because of this pre-financing, or have to take out expensive loans year after year.

  • Roastery pays the producer out of its own pocket
  • Customers buy the harvest in advance
With the pre-sale, the money is there when the harvest has to be paid for. The roastery then delivers as usual.

More loyal customers through pre-sales, without extra work and without legal pitfalls.

01

Legally sound from the start

Taking money for coffee that has not been harvested yet comes close to questions that usually concern banks: What counts as a deposit, what applies to cancellations, what happens if a harvest fails? We take that headache off your hands. Contracts, terms and the payment flow come ready-made, and the money never sits with us.

02

The organisation runs itself

Customers are charged automatically, and only once the minimum target has been reached. After that you see for every person which quantity is due when, and we also handle the organisation for replacement coffee or delays. No spreadsheet to maintain for 18 months.

03

A network that brings customers

Your customers get an account with a delivery schedule and news from the harvest. And anyone who has pre-bought from one roastery discovers the harvests of the others. Every campaign in the network brings new people to all roasteries.

A model that lasts

  • No loan. The harvest is paid for with coffee that has already been sold, without interest and without debt.
  • No half-funded risk. The harvest is only bought once the minimum target is reached.
  • Every year again. Each harvest is a new campaign. Anyone who joined once is quicker to join the next time.
  • You only pay on success. Our commission only applies if a campaign reaches its target.
How it works

Four steps from the harvest to your cup.

  1. 1

    The roastery plans the harvest

It decides which producer and which harvest the coffee comes from, at what price it is offered and from which amount the roastery will buy.

  2. 2

    You secure your share

You choose a quantity, a single bag is enough. Nothing is charged at this point.

  3. 3

    The harvest is bought

Once the minimum target is reached, payments are collected. The money goes through a regulated payment provider directly to the roastery, which uses it to pay the producer.

  4. 4

    Freshly roasted, throughout the year

As soon as the coffee has arrived, the roastery roasts it and sends you your quantity in instalments, as you need it.

Who it is for

One coffee, three perspectives

Money before you buy

You pay for the harvest with your customers' money instead of financing it for months from your own funds or with loans.

Directly from the producer

Instead of having an importer advance the harvest, you pay the producer yourself. The money for it comes from the pre-sale.

Customers who stay

Anyone who pre-buys a harvest stays with you for a year and knows the story behind the coffee. You only pay us if your campaign reaches its target.

Our principles

You are buying coffee. We promise nothing more, and we keep exactly that promise.

  • A purchase, not an investmentThere is no interest, no return and no credit balance. You receive the agreed quantity of coffee.
  • The money never sits with usA regulated payment provider passes the purchase price directly to the roastery.
  • Clear rules if a harvest failsIf a harvest fails, the roastery delivers a comparable coffee. The exact terms are stated in every campaign.
  • Limited termNo more than 18 months pass between purchase and the last delivery.
Questions

Frequently asked.

What happens if the minimum target is not reached?

Then the purchase does not go ahead. Your payment method is not charged and you do not need to do anything.

How much coffee do I have to buy?

As much as you like. A single bag is enough. The upper limit is roughly one year's consumption.

When do I get my coffee?

As soon as the harvest has arrived at the roastery. Depending on the origin, this takes a few months after the campaign ends. After that it is delivered in instalments, freshly roasted.

What if the harvest fails?

Then the roastery delivers a comparable coffee. Exactly how it handles this is stated in the terms of each campaign before you buy.

What does it cost a roastery?

We receive a commission on the volume of a campaign, and only if it reaches its minimum target. Coffee drinkers pay no fees to us.

Pilot phase
